About Us

A platform guided by one simple principle, "spread happiness".

Our mission

eLingual.Net's mission is to spread happiness worldwide through happy translators, interpreters, and clients.

For the professional translator and interpreter, this means no middleman, no job bidding, the freedom of setting their own fees, control over their services, and who they choose to work with.

For the clients, this means working directly with ethical and professional translators and interpreters committed to quality, value, and professionalism.

Our belief

At eLingual.Net, we believe we can improve how clients, translators, and interpreters work together.  Beta since 2013, we understand the importance for our company to operate transparently and know you want to join a network which works hard to integrate fair and ethical practices.  Our efforts are focused on making sure our members are happy and that we operate in a manner consistent with our mission, brand values, and professionalism.

We succeed only if both professionals and clients are happy.  This happiness is accomplished through our three guiding principles: connect, empower, and support.

eLingual.Net connects professional translators and interpreters with quality and ethically conscious clients, by providing a meeting place to present and offer their services.  eLingual.Net connects clients with professional translators and interpreters worldwide by providing detailed profiles to inform clients about who is providing the services.

In a profession where there are so many unqualified so-called translators-interpreters, middleman, machine, and crowd-sourced amateur translations, it is difficult to know who actually does the translations and under what conditions.

eLingual.Net empowers translation and interpretation clients by helping them work with professional translators and interpreters directly and providing them with the information they need to make more conscious choices.  We give clients the choice to say no to translation-sweatshops, poor quality, and bad business practices, while encouraging them to use their wallets to make our world happier.

eLingual.Net empowers professional translators and interpreters by giving them control over their services, fees, and who they choose to work with.  We give translators and interpreters the support they need to build a successful business from their services.

eLingual.Net supports language preservation by promoting the human touch for future generations to enjoy.  These last few decades we have seen a rise in good professional translators and interpreters forced to give up their professions in favor of more lucrative careers, causing the deterioration in the quality, value, standards, professionalism, and fees of translations and interpretations worldwide.  eLingual.Net provides a place which allows translators and interpreters to do what makes them happy, so they can operate successful professional businesses.

eLingual.Net also supports the professional translator and interpreter community worldwide by spreading the word and raising awareness through our services, apparel and blog about the valuable role they play in our daily lives.  We at eLingual.Net donate a portion of our profits to honorable non-profits.  As we grow together, we are committed to giving back to our community and beyond.

Spread happiness

Join our movement in empowering and spreading happiness by supporting fair, ethical, transparent, quality, and professional services, education, and advocacy for translators, interpreters, and their clients.
A message from our founder, Carmen Arismendy...
Growing up a daughter to immigrant parents who speak mostly Spanish, my siblings and I were always interpreting or translating for them and other family members.  Early on I realized how much I loved interpreting - and helping other translators and interpreters achieve happiness - ever since.
In 2005, I attended an extension college at the California State University of Northridge to learn everything I could about interpreting and translating: I loved it!

Having worked as an in-house translator-interpreter and currently as a professional freelancer, I founded eLingual.Net with the help of Pablo Raygoza, a fellow colleague. We started the eLingual Network because we could not find a fair, no middleman, no bidding, ethical and transparent meeting place for translators, interpreters and clients online.  We had a vision of building a fair, ethical and transparent business that not only helps professional translators and interpreters support the profession that brings them happiness but also support the clients who work with them.

At eLingual.Net, I wear many hats including presenting our unique meeting place to professional translators and interpreters and clients.  I help develop translation and interpretation client related articles also career related articles for translators and interpreters.  One article that I wrote on LinkedIn has been view over 12K times titled, Why Translators and Interpreters Compare Themselves to Doctors and Lawyers.  Since we have a limited budget (my wallet), I work on website development with our developer James, we look for new and efficient features which are in line with our mission.  Additionally, I single-handedly manage the West Coast Body & Paint office, website, and marketing which I own with my husband.

On behalf of eLingual.Net, I welcome you to be part of our community and movement.   A movement for fair, ethical, transparent conditions, and good business practices for translators, interpreters.  A movement for ethical, quality and professional translation and interpretation services for clients.  Our website is by no means perfect, it's a work in progress, but a step in the right direction.

Join our happy community, let's work together!

Who we are
We are a tiny but mighty group of freelancers, a team made up of two professional translators-interpreters  and a technology nerd.

eLingual.Net is powered completely by our team on a shoe-string budget.  Which means we still work, on top of working on this project.  Growth is slow but steady and it takes time before ideas turn into actions.

We look for innovative ways to spread happiness, empower, bring together and support translators, interpreters and their clients worldwide.  If you wish to help see our Trello board.
